“Through our business, every role can become complicated and overlapping. I needed a tool that would bring more clarity and visibility that clearly outlines each other’s responsibility.”
“When it comes to new staff, we now have the ability to provide better training with a system that gives a clear direction in what is expected of that role.”
The Organisation
Golden Homes is a residential construction company with more than 20 years of experience building homes for New Zealand families.
Based in the fast-growing Bay of Plenty region, the business had expanded to the point where documenting and managing processes became critical to keeping projects on time and on budget.
We spoke with Saint Whatuira, General Manager of Golden Homes Bay of Plenty, about how Flowingly gave the team a 360-degree view of their operations – from construction through to HR and finance.
The Challenge
With a large number of employees, sub-contractors, and office staff all contributing to every build, roles had become complicated and overlapping. There was limited visibility over who was responsible for what, where projects were at, or how things were tracking.

The business was also growing fast, and onboarding new staff was becoming a challenge. Without standardised processes, there was no single place for new team members to understand what was expected of them or how things worked.
The Solution
After evaluating multiple solutions, Golden Homes chose Flowingly for its value, visibility, and ease of use. The team started by mapping their core construction processes using the visual drag-and-drop modeler, then turned those maps into live automated workflows.
Within days, Saint had complete visibility over all in-progress construction projects. Individual workflows were set up for new builds, variations, maintenance, and hazard management – each one giving staff a clear view of what was required at every step and how each project was progressing in real time.
With the core construction workflows running, Golden Homes then expanded across the rest of the business, publishing processes for Sales, Human Resources, Finance, and IT. Consistency across all of these functions matters when dozens of people are contributing to a single project.

Results
Staff now know who’s responsible at every step of every process, and management can see where projects are at without having to chase updates. The end result across builds is becoming more predictable and consistent – and when things aren’t working, the team can identify the issue and adjust.
Golden Homes is already on the second version of their project delivery process, refining based on what they’ve learned from real project data. In an industry where a lot can change over the months of a home build, being able to spot trends and make improvements in real time has been a genuine shift.
“These guys are continuing to improve and take on any feedback that we have to help us all.”
